A medieval latin reader : an intermediate Latin commentary

This Latin reader is one in a series of readers (Latin and Greek) compiled and self-published by Hadavas. Its texts are taken from Charles H. Beeson’s 1925 compilation, A Primer of Medieval Latin: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. Hadavas intends this book for the sort of “beginning–intermediate” students one might find in the first or second year of an undergraduate Latin program, i.e. students who have been given a semester or two of foundational instruction through a text like Wheelock’s Latin, and who are then expected to graduate to read unadapted Latin texts.

Carbon colonialism : how rich countries export climate breakdown

Carbon emissions are the greatest environmental threat facing the planet and have been subject to ever more stringent regulation in recent decades. The UK, EU, and even the notoriously lagging US have made significant strides in changing the direction of their emissions, apparently bending down curves that had strained ever upwards for centuries. Yet the majority of these gains are a fallacy: a product of richer nations diminishing their share of global industry and ‘outsourcing’ carbon-intensive processes to the global South.

The Politics of Children’s Rights and Representation

This edited volume investigates children and youth's deep entanglement in today's major global, national, and local transformations and processes: wherein they are not mere spectators and objects of transformations but instead actively shape them through various social, economic, and political representations. International contributions illuminate the problems that arise when children's rights and participation become a site of contestation and power over who represents whom, what, when, and where.
