This third edition, published in 2023, represents a fresh look at the realm of computer aids to decision making, with an expanded focus on the broader context in which knowledge and guidance are able to shape our activities in many realms, for all the participants in the health and health care “collective.” In this (almost) decade since the previous edition, we note that not only is progress occurring on many fronts, but the name of the game is changing ! We believe that health care is ripe for a drastic transformation, partially driven by technologies such as clinical decision support and digital health.
