    The Library System in Los Andes University, depends on the Vice-Rectory of Academic Affairs, we focus on providing innovative information resources, which serve as support for the development of the processes of academic units, research and knowledge creation, supported by an integrated professional team that responds to the needs and expectations of the Uniandina community.

    Our principles

    The Library System continuously identifies, establishes and applies the following principles:

    • All our users and stakeholders are equal in the exercise of our functions and responsibilities
    • All the actions of each of our officials are framed within the common good and the general interest.
    • The performance of the responsibilities assigned to each position must be carried out with integrity and dignity.

    The conformation of the work team in the Library System considers multidisciplinarity as a relevant factor for the achievement of its objectives. The following institutional values have been adopted as important factors to develop within the competencies that staff members should have:

    To be an inclusive and supportive Library System, leader in Latin America for the innovation and quality of its services, the relevance and relevance of its collections, which integrates technological tools to facilitate access to information and promotes the generation of autonomous users, research/creation and cooperation with the environment and other institutions of the country and the world.

    Integral Development Program (PDI 2016-2020)

    The Integral Development Program (IDP) poses challenges, draws a "road map" for the Los Andes University over  5-year time horizon and constitutes the synthesis of a wide variety of contributions from different interest groups. The Superior Council, in its session of December 9, 2015, approved the fourth Integral Development Program 2016-2020 that formulates, specifies and prioritizes the actions and activities that will be developed in the next five years to guide the efforts in a concerted manner.

Students, professors and researchers linked to other institutions with there is a current agreement, can consult in the room and pick up materials in interlibrary loan.

User who obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree from Los Andes University:

  • External borrowing of books (5 books for a period of 7 days) .
  • Online Loan Renewal.
  • Check your account statement.
  • Subscribe to book newsletters.
  • Consult bibliographic material in the room.
  • Consult the online catalogue and the Discoverer.
  • Request letters of introduction to visit libraries, national or international, with current agreement.
  • Electronic resources consultation, see list of available databases.
